Attention, please!

While I was checking a forum the other day I found a discussion going on between the members about Omani Products.
What caught my attention was the fact that the products they mentioned were all similar & limited between Al Shihani products & the perfumes from Amouage to be more specific.

The question here is: can it truly be that our local products are very limited? The answer is: No.

There are actually a number of factories working on making house supplies, drinks & many different products, which costumers usually walk away by the sight of without taking another look. What these products need is attention. & attention means marketing, which unfortunately, Oman lacks at.

What we truly need here is to get more creative and completely abandon the old style that has been going on since forever! At this point, I believe the only ones who are capable to make difference in this field are the youth. As far as I have seen, our youth are full of energy & in my opinion the marketing sector can take advantage of these creative minds & listen to what they have.
I know for a fact that there are better products & that Omani products are not the best, but we need to give our local goods a chance. & by that we will be encouraging them, which would help to improve the qualities by time. & hopefully that will make Oman a better Oman.
Don’t we all love Oman?

Hear us out..

We find everything in nothing. Talk about seven wonders, and we can give you seven million! We see the world in colors and enjoy every moment of it.
.. As we start to grow up, they say there’s an objective reality out there. Something beyond our capabilities. That’s when they move us aside to decide everything for us and steal our voices away.
Don’t you always say that we the future? The ones whom are supposed to lead one day? Isn’t this our life?!
Just take a pose here and seriously think this through. Would you possibly accept to be treated this way and stay still with no choice to do while others are deciding for you for your own life?
I’m pretty sure that we are not old enough. I know we might not be wise enough. But no one can ever develop that over a night. We need experiences to make a good judgment, to learn how to manage and develop our abilities with what’s surrounding us.
All what we are asking for is to be given a chance! Hear our voices! Let us view this reality through the spectacles of our beliefs, attitudes and values.. And we promise not to disappoint.

Science & Faith by The Script

'It is a heart-rending drama of tragedy and triumph, love and loss, struggle and survival, the epic journey of three young Dublin boys from the wrong side of the tracks who risk everything for a dream.'

...

.. & there you have it!

Featuring a handful of hit singles here they come with their newest album; Science & Faith.. This is something I can rely on if I were in a mood for chilled melodies, let alone their superb lyrics & soulful vocals.

Here are some tracks from the album:

Shattered ..

When the world starts to darken & everything becomes a blur to the eye. So far away it feels to where your arms can possibly reach.
You're lost in your thoughts .. & your heart is tearing into bits.
...
No, you're not blind.
The truth is right in front of you, but you decide to look away, because it hurts.
Though this lonesome & insecurity are killing you, you don't give up. Instead, you keep the hope in you.
You wait for a sign, one little sign, to prove you wrong... But, are you wrong? You'll never know.

You just continue living with that fake smile on your face & pretend that everything's okay.

Stuttering by Fefe Dobson

This is the second single by the Canadian singer-songwriter Fefe Dobson, from her upcoming third studio album, titled Joy. The single was was co-written by Claude Kelly and produced by J. R. Rotem and was released on September 7, 2010.

It does sound like a blend of songs that already exist, but I found myself listening to it repeatedly last week. I'm loving the vocals!

...

Enjoy!

Hate?

Isn’t the word Hate too strong, intense & way full of negative vibes to express a feeling? .. At least that’s what I think. So, starting from today, I’ll cross the word Hate out of my dictionary, & replace it with the word Dislike.
& in case you like the idea, don’t hesitate to join me, too!
...
Have a good day!

Judge me, & I judge you.

There are lots of things that I don’t like about our Omani society. But what I truly despise is how judgmental people can be. To be honest, I was judgmental myself, but that was almost five years back, when I realized that I don’t even know the person well nor do I know the reason he was acting the way he acts. & that I was drawing a picture in my mind according to what I hear from people, which was probably one of my life’s biggest mistakes.
In our society, rumors are quickly spread, & people believe anything they want to believe, even if deep down they know that there’s a chance that it isn’t true, but that doesn’t stop them from carrying on instead of confirming what they hear. I mean, seriously people! Why not to confer & personally make sure about something before talking about it? That would have made things much better.

What also bugs me is to judge someone according to their family. I know most of us believe that every person’s behavior is nothing but a reflection of the person’s family, and I’m not saying its wrong, but it doesn’t always work that way, & to me, everybody is an individual & that’s the way I’d prefer to judge most of the time. I also want to point out that we should never judge someone according to what has happened in the past, because firstly we are living the present! Plus, people grow up & learn from life & some do change to the better. Again, we are living the present!

Anyway, no matter what happens, no matter what we hear, after all, we are all humans & we do mistakes. So let’s give everyone a chance to once speak out for themselves & right the wrongs instead of making their life miserable because of our judgment.

Optical Illusion.

Going through some photo streams on flickr.com the other day, I found some pictures that later I learnt are called Forced Perspective Photography which is a technique that employs optical illusion to make an object appear farther away, closer, larger or smaller than it actually is. It is used primarily in photography, filmmaking & architecture.
It manipulates human visual perception through the use of scaled objects & the correlation between them & the vantage point of the spectator or camera.
.. There were some photos I found that were not objected away, closer, larger nor smaller. They were simply rotated, which I think should also be added to the definition because obviously it’s the same technique idea & concept.
Here are few of the ones I liked the most:

I find it a pleasure to view such inspiring creativity that people have.  It’s in you, too. All you need is to think out of the box. Look at the world through a different perspective & you will work wonders!

.. A New Chapter in My Life.

It feels just like yesterday when it was my first day at school. The day I grabbed my first school bag, with a Winnie the Pooh lunch box in my hand, wearing my brand new navy school uniform. Filled with happiness, ‘Ana kbeera! I’m a grown up now!’ I thought. & now here I am, starting my higher education.
It’s unbelievable how fast the years have passed.
I can’t hide that there are certain things I wish I did differently – talking about my studies here.. Yes, I could have done better, yet I have to admit that I am happy & I’m looking forward for the days with all my heart.
Tomorrow is my first day at college. Wish me luck!
